AFFIRMATIONS, or positive thinking and achieving goals and dreams

In previous posts, I told my story — there was about depression and big changes. I strongly believe that you can become the kind of person you dream of being. I used to be very shy and I struggled with a lot of problems. However, if for a longer period of time you actively change your thinking, then your life also change and I am the best example of that. What you do every day has a huge impact on what person you are. The change does not happen suddenly. Only daily small steps will help you in the long term to achieve great things and make great changes. That is why affirmations will be the area of today’s focus, because affirmations are very helpful in the transition.

If you want to lose 10 kg, for example, you won’t do it in one week. You gotta take care of your health every day and lose weight gradually. It is only after many months that the final effect will be visible and, moreover, you should not stop at it. Similarly—in order to achieve the proper state of your mind, you must work on your thinking every day and do it all the time. Your mind is like a muscle and should be treated as such—it requires daily exercise. Unfortunately, you often don’t realize how limited your thinking is and how much your mind needs training.

You can shape yourself through affirmations

The whole world that surrounds you since childhood shapes you and you don’t even realize how much. What you do, what you think, what you can do—it’s all just the rules established in your head, acquired during your life. Your perception of reality can both hold you back and push you forward. That is why you need to take care of your beliefs. Each of us has different experiences from youth and the resulting beliefs. Consequently, some will have it harder and others easier—but it’s the past and you can’t change it. However, if you “inject” positive beliefs into your head every day, and those beliefs will be capable of giving you a boost, then your life will certainly develop in a positive direction. Your goals and dreams will come true over time. Although gradually and slowly, you are able to actively change yourself over the years.

If you expose yourself to positive things, your life will start to go in the right direction. Don’t get me wrong — there is no shortcut here and affirmations are not a wonderful cure for problems in life. Using affirmation is just a good (and pleasant) exercise that helps you believe in yourself and change your thinking to a positive one. Just as simple physical exercises done regularly strengthen the body, regular use of affirmation strengthens the mind.

Affirmations provide the best way for all of to start our life-changing journey. Starting big changes in my life back in 2012, I also started with affirmations and books (a good book is just a big collection of affirmations that change your thinking). Every day affirmations help you change your approach to the world. Thanks to affirmations, you believe that you can achieve your dreams. Maybe at first you’re afraid to dream, but affirmations allow you to change your thinking and start dreaming about great things, and then they make you start acting towards making those dreams come true.

Affirmations shape your thoughts and your positive thinking

All great people have great thoughts. Your thoughts stem from your beliefs, convictions about what is possible and what is not possible. Very often your beliefs and convictions are not true, they don’t reflect what are you capable of. Do you believe you could be able to publish your own book? It might seem difficult to you, but for some it’s a piece of cake. Maybe you wanna make extra 10,000 dollars and save up for your dream vacation? Someone else earns that much in a month, others in just one day. Everything really depends on what your attitude, your belief in yourself. People earning large sums have no limit in their head which would make them stuck at 5,000 per month.

It’s not about planning to become a multimillionaire right away (unfortunately, many people will try to sell you the way to do it), but about changing your life, seeing the world, starting your own business that will give you freedom, maybe living a slightly different life than society suggests, etc. This apply to all aspects of our lives. Who said you can’t make good money, run a marathon and, for example, dive with sharks in Cape Town, South Africa? It just depends on what you think is real. If you have limited beliefs, you will never go beyond your limits—that’s for sure. That is why affirmations and daily changes in your thinking are so important.

My affirmations

Below are some examples of affirmations that I use every morning. I developed them based on inspiration from many different successful people I follow.
