How to get rid of insomnia—1 SIMPLE WAY

In this article, I want to share with you how to get rid of insomnia, I will show you a very effective way to deal with this nagging problem. I am describing this issue on my blog because I have been struggling with insomnia for a very long time, and it has had a very negative impact on my life. Insomnia and its consequences are a very unpleasant topic, and I don’t need to tell that to people who suffer from it.

This article will show you 1 simple way how to get rid of insomnia that will work in 100% cases where insomnia is caused by stress, fear, excess tasks to do, tension and fear of insomnia, which is probably most of the cases that meet us in the modern world. Read the entire article to overcome your insomnia, because it is very important to understand the problem itself through an in-depth and informed familiarisation of the subject.

A brief overview of my insomnia, or the causes of insomnia

My problem with insomnia started a few years ago when I began working as a restaurant manager and was already running my business on Amazon. The new job was very demanding and stressful for me. I had to overcome many new barriers and break my comfort zone in a very significant way. Difficult work and excess duties resulted in a high level of stress and exhaustion of the body. There were busy nights and late work. The lack of sleep resulted in even higher levels of stress and a lack of ability to focus on the work being done.

Over time, my attention was increasingly focused on the fact that “I need to get some sleep”, because my body always have poor performance without enough sleep. However, excessive focus on falling asleep caused even greater problems for me in this aspect. Very often I couldn’t fall asleep and I would wake up very early in the morning, thinking that I wouldn’t get enough sleep and wouldn’t be able to function properly the next day. The thought of facing a difficult day due to lack of sleep caused me to be unable to fall asleep and experience insomnia. This, of course, resulted in a lack of focus all day long and great tension. The problem was occurring more and more often, and I developed long-term insomnia, or rather anxiety about insomnia, which was causing the insomnia.

Hyperintention, or the fear of insomnia

Psychiatrist Viktor Frankl in his brilliant book “Man’s Search for Meaning” describes the phenomenon of hyperintentions on the example of, among others, insomnia. The concept of hyperintention is defined as an excessive focus on the goal. What does this mean in practice? If you excessively try, for example, to fall asleep and constantly think that you only have 7 hours of sleep left and that you won’t be able to sleep well, that you will mess up the next day, the result of this is precisely the inability to fall asleep and shallow, nervous sleep. Hyperintentions cause us great stress, which prevents us from relaxing up and falling into the deep sleep that is necessary for us.

The concept of hyperintention and excessive concentration can be demonstrated in many different examples, and this mechanism manifests itself in various types of anxieties and phobias. A great example is the excessive focus during sex and the topic of achieving orgasm. If we overly focus during sex and think too much about what we need to do, we stop feeling pleasure and this can result in sexual issues, especially problems with achieving orgasm.

Anxiety is the main cause of sleep problems

The same applies in many other areas of life. If you want to talk to a girl, speak in public, have a job interview, etc. and you overly focus on what you have to do, the result of your actions may be lamentable. The stress and anxiety caused by hyperintentions deprives you of confidence and freedom of action. You start to feel the fear of failure, which results in stress and ineffective action. The nervousness caused by exaggerated concentration will make you feel and act uncertain in everyday situations.

Due to excessive focus on the task, you are overanalyzing the situation and stressing excessively, all of which is preventing you from successfully performing certain actions in a way that ensures your success. You know perfectly well that people who approach many things in a relaxed manner handle them much better. Unfortunately, fear of failure makes you perform the task poorly or even avoid it altogether. As you can see, the concept of hyperintention works not only in situations of sleeplessness, but in our entire lives.

Paradoxical intention, or simple treatment of insomnia without any medication

So, how to get rid of insomnia caused by anxiety and stress then? Viktor Frankl presented in his book a great way that we can apply in case of insomnia caused by anxiety. This worked 100% for me and that’s why I want to share this solution with you too.

The way is simple and can be applied immediately—it is a paradoxical intention, that is, a desire for what we are so afraid of. Imagine that you don’t need to sleep at all and you don’t have to go to bed early. Your attitude must be opposite to fear. By going to bed or waking up at night, don’t try to fall asleep. Remember that your body alone is able to adjust your sleep and if you need it, you’ll just fall asleep. If you don’t feel like sleeping yet, don’t go to bed. Six hours of good sleep is better than ten hours of sleep in stress and fear of not getting enough rest. Focus on not wanting to fall asleep and just try not to fall asleep while lying in bed. This is the first and most important part of solving the problem of insomnia caused by anxiety and stress.

How to get rid of insomnia? Understanding the problem is the best treatment

The second part of solving insomnia is to understand the whole mechanism of hyperintentions and paradoxical intentions. Understanding how our body works is another very important factor, because we comprehend our problem and are aware of the causes of our disorders. A simple explanation of the phenomenon followed by the application of the mechanism of paradoxical intention will make you feel a huge relief by understanding the cause of the problem.

This way, we can step out of ourselves a bit and see the problem from a different perspective—it’s a great way to treat insomnia and many other ailments and medications. Looking at ourselves from the side is a wonderful skill and it helps us to control our emotions and fears in various situations that we encounter every day, and insomnia is a great example that helps to understand this mechanism and apply it in many aspects of our lives. Understanding our minds and learning has also helped me to overcome my depression.

How to get rid of insomnia—1 SIMPLE WAY to do it FOREVER — watch the video

1
00:00:00,080 –> 00:00:03,129
Hi! I’m Tomek.
From Waiter To Millionaire.

2
00:00:03,130 –> 00:00:08,457
In this video, I want to present you
a very simple way to overcome insomnia.

3
00:00:08,458 –> 00:00:13,400
I had been struggling with it
for several years and had a big problem,

4
00:00:13,401 –> 00:00:16,229
as my life
suffered a lot because of it.

5
00:00:16,230 –> 00:00:20,114
I want to show you a very simple way
that worked for me

6
00:00:20,115 –> 00:00:24,771
and which is able to improve
the quality of sleep in 100% of cases.

7
00:00:24,772 –> 00:00:29,843
I’m talking about insomnia which
is caused by the anxiety of insomnia,

8
00:00:29,844 –> 00:00:32,571
a stress and the excess of tasks.

9
00:00:32,572 –> 00:00:37,357
When it comes to our personal
or work life, we often get stressed

10
00:00:37,358 –> 00:00:41,829
and we can’t sleep, we’re afraid
that we won’t get enough sleep,

11
00:00:41,830 –> 00:00:45,300
we feel stress, tension
and this causes insomnia.

12
00:00:45,301 –> 00:00:50,129
In this video, I’ll show you
a very simple way to overcome insomnia

13
00:00:50,130 –> 00:00:52,300
caused by such things.

14
00:00:52,301 –> 00:00:57,557
It’s very important for you
to watch this video in its entirety,

15
00:00:57,558 –> 00:01:01,043
because – apart from
this very simple way –

16
00:01:01,044 –> 00:01:05,671
it’s also very important
to understand the problem and explain it,

17
00:01:05,672 –> 00:01:09,229
as it will also help you
overcome insomnia.

18
00:01:09,230 –> 00:01:14,029
So, let’s get to the point.
I’ll tell you briefly about my insomnia.

19
00:01:14,030 –> 00:01:17,457
I was having a problem with it
for several years,

20
00:01:17,458 –> 00:01:23,071
when I became a restaurant manager and
started running my business on Amazon.

21
00:01:23,072 –> 00:01:27,343
The excess of responsibilities, stress,
overwork, tension –

22
00:01:27,344 –> 00:01:29,329
it made me unable to sleep.

23
00:01:29,330 –> 00:01:34,843
I worked late, pulling all-nighters,
but I had no problems with sleep at first.

24
00:01:34,844 –> 00:01:40,271
However, later on, I began to be stressed
that the next day is very demanding,

25
00:01:40,272 –> 00:01:44,300
I was waking up early
and then I started having anxiety

26
00:01:44,301 –> 00:01:48,286
that I won’t get enough sleep
and that I’ll fail at work

27
00:01:48,287 –> 00:01:50,557
because of being sleep-deprived.

28
00:01:50,558 –> 00:01:55,457
And we all know that we function badly
while not having enough sleep.

29
00:01:55,458 –> 00:01:59,657
So, the fear of it
caused the lack of sleep, tension

30
00:01:59,658 –> 00:02:04,200
when I lay laid down or I often had
such a problem that I woke up

31
00:02:04,201 –> 00:02:07,957
at 3 a.m.
and I couldn’t sleep till morning.

32
00:02:07,958 –> 00:02:11,286
I was mentally exhausted,
sleep-deprived

33
00:02:11,287 –> 00:02:14,500
and I couldn’t do anything
for the entire day.

34
00:02:14,501 –> 00:02:18,871
And every evening, I stressed
that I won’t sleep another night

35
00:02:18,872 –> 00:02:22,957
and it resulted in sleep deprivation,
waking up at night,

36
00:02:22,958 –> 00:02:25,514
waking up before morning and nerves.

37
00:02:25,515 –> 00:02:31,919
Of course, my efficiency during the day
was very low and I couldn’t sleep.

38
00:02:31,920 –> 00:02:35,428
And I’ve been struggling with
insomnia for years.

39
00:02:35,429 –> 00:02:40,329
I managed to solve it in a very simple way
that I want to show you.

40
00:02:40,330 –> 00:02:45,129
I read a great book recently,
“Man’s Search for Meaning”,

41
00:02:45,130 –> 00:02:48,500
by Austrian psychiatrist Viktor Frankl.

42
00:02:48,501 –> 00:02:53,039
In this book, the author describes
his experiences from

43
00:02:53,040 –> 00:02:58,343
4 concentration camps,
in which he went through difficult times.

44
00:02:58,344 –> 00:03:01,043
This psychiatrist,
Viktor Frankl,

45
00:03:01,044 –> 00:03:04,743
describes the workings of
the human psyche.

46
00:03:04,744 –> 00:03:09,043
He also describes
the mechanism of hyper-intention,

47
00:03:09,044 –> 00:03:13,271
that is, a mechanism in our head
which results in

48
00:03:13,272 –> 00:03:17,757
an exaggerated concentration
on achieving some goal.

49
00:03:17,758 –> 00:03:22,029
I’ll explain it to you
on the example of insomnia,

50
00:03:22,030 –> 00:03:27,557
but it can be applied to
many other problems in our lives.

51
00:03:27,558 –> 00:03:32,786
The mechanism of hyper-intention
involves an exaggerated focus

52
00:03:32,787 –> 00:03:35,171
on achieving some goal.

53
00:03:35,172 –> 00:03:39,286
If you overfocus on the fact
that you have to sleep well,

54
00:03:39,287 –> 00:03:42,920
because you have
a hard day ahead of you –

55
00:03:42,920 –> 00:03:48,186
usually, you have a hard day every day,
as life demands a lot of activities –

56
00:03:48,187 –> 00:03:51,400
and if you overfocus on
getting enough sleep,

57
00:03:51,401 –> 00:03:55,629
on the fact that you have
little time left till the morning,

58
00:03:55,630 –> 00:04:00,560
that if you don’t get enough sleep,
you’ll function badly the next day,

59
00:04:00,561 –> 00:04:04,814
then the mechanism of hyper-intention
won’t let you relax.

60
00:04:04,815 –> 00:04:08,771
This mechanism works in
many different aspects of life.

61
00:04:08,772 –> 00:04:12,600
Viktor Frankl in his book
“Man’s Search for Meaning”

62
00:04:12,601 –> 00:04:15,914
compares this mechanism
to many other things,

63
00:04:15,915 –> 00:04:19,143
like achieving an orgasm,
in the case of sex,

64
00:04:19,144 –> 00:04:24,257
if you overfocus on achieving an orgasm
or you focus too much on yourself

65
00:04:24,258 –> 00:04:26,743
and you think too much what to do.

66
00:04:26,744 –> 00:04:32,120
It can also be applied to the situation
in which you go for a job interview

67
00:04:32,120 –> 00:04:35,729
and you think intensely
that you must perform well.

68
00:04:35,730 –> 00:04:40,343
Or when you approach a boy or a girl
and you want to impress them.

69
00:04:40,344 –> 00:04:45,000
When the mechanism of hyper-intention
overfocuses you on the fact

70
00:04:45,001 –> 00:04:48,586
that you must perform well,
then anxiety appears,

71
00:04:48,587 –> 00:04:51,671
so you can’t relax
and use your abilities.

72
00:04:51,672 –> 00:04:55,671
In the case of insomnia,
the mechanism of hyper-intention

73
00:04:55,672 –> 00:04:57,671
causes a great anxiety.

74
00:04:57,672 –> 00:05:03,443
Anxiety is a problem in this situation,
as the anxiety that is triggered in you,

75
00:05:03,444 –> 00:05:06,129
doesn’t allow you to relax and sleep.

76
00:05:06,130 –> 00:05:10,914
At this point, it doesn’t matter
if you spend 5 or 10 hours in bed –

77
00:05:10,915 –> 00:05:13,271
you still won’t get enough sleep.

78
00:05:13,272 –> 00:05:18,786
But if you get rid of this anxiety,
then you just need 6 hours of good sleep.

79
00:05:18,787 –> 00:05:23,714
Now, why is it that some people
who don’t give a damn about anything

80
00:05:23,715 –> 00:05:28,400
don’t stress and they perform well,
while people who get emotional

81
00:05:28,401 –> 00:05:31,943
in case of anxiety,
whether it’s insomnia or not,

82
00:05:31,944 –> 00:05:34,271
can’t focus and do some task?

83
00:05:34,272 –> 00:05:38,943
That’s the mechanism of hyper-intention –
overfocusing on a goal.

84
00:05:38,944 –> 00:05:42,486
It’s very important to
understand this mechanism,

85
00:05:42,487 –> 00:05:47,000
before we move on to a method
that will help you fight insomnia.

86
00:05:47,001 –> 00:05:50,686
If you focus too much
on the fact that you must sleep

87
00:05:50,687 –> 00:05:55,486
and it causes you to stress,
to feel anxiety of insomnia and tension,

88
00:05:55,487 –> 00:05:59,871
then your body can’t relax,
you can’t sleep and you get tired.

89
00:05:59,872 –> 00:06:03,414
Every day is lost, as you
don’t get enough sleep

90
00:06:03,415 –> 00:06:09,586
and it rolls like a snowball – causing
fatigue and a stress the next night.

91
00:06:09,587 –> 00:06:11,928
And that’s how it goes.

92
00:06:11,929 –> 00:06:16,686
Now, how to overcome overfocusing
and anxiety of insomnia,

93
00:06:16,687 –> 00:06:18,700
basing on this mechanism?

94
00:06:18,701 –> 00:06:21,443
Viktor Frankl
in his book proposes

95
00:06:21,444 –> 00:06:26,457
a very simple method
called paradoxical intention.

96
00:06:26,458 –> 00:06:29,857
How does this method work?

97
00:06:29,858 –> 00:06:33,700
In the case of fear of insomnia
and many other cases –

98
00:06:33,701 –> 00:06:38,214
where you have to deal with
fears, phobias, compulsions, etc.,

99
00:06:38,215 –> 00:06:42,686
you can apply this mechanism
to many different aspects of life –

100
00:06:42,687 –> 00:06:45,743
this method relies on
paradoxical intention.

101
00:06:45,744 –> 00:06:50,629
That is, you try to do something
opposite to your fear, phobia, etc.

102
00:06:50,630 –> 00:06:55,357
So, if you have a problem with insomnia,
you can’t get enough sleep,

103
00:06:55,358 –> 00:07:00,157
and you’re stressed by it,
then you should take the opposite steps –

104
00:07:00,158 –> 00:07:02,486
you should try not to sleep.

105
00:07:02,487 –> 00:07:06,729
It may seem ridiculous,
but if you try not to sleep,

106
00:07:06,730 –> 00:07:12,800
your intention is not sleeping,
you try to force yourself not to sleep,

107
00:07:12,801 –> 00:07:16,914
then guess what – you sleep like a log.

108
00:07:16,915 –> 00:07:21,214
It’s a method that I tested
and it works brilliantly.

109
00:07:21,215 –> 00:07:24,957
I’ve been struggling with sleep
for 2 years,

110
00:07:24,958 –> 00:07:29,000
having anxiety of insomnia,
stress and waking up at night.

111
00:07:29,001 –> 00:07:32,600
When I applied this method,
I just try not to sleep,

112
00:07:32,601 –> 00:07:35,700
telling myself that
I don’t want to sleep,

113
00:07:35,701 –> 00:07:39,743
that I don’t need it and direct
my thoughts and attention

114
00:07:39,744 –> 00:07:45,071
to the fact that I don’t need to sleep
and it’d be OK to be sleep-deprived.

115
00:07:45,072 –> 00:07:48,543
At this point,
using this method for some time,

116
00:07:48,544 –> 00:07:50,800
I sleep like a baby every night.

117
00:07:50,801 –> 00:07:54,943
I’m not bothered by many factors
that caused me to wake up.

118
00:07:54,944 –> 00:07:59,471
I sleep well, I wake up well-rested
and I have a lust for life.

119
00:07:59,472 –> 00:08:04,300
It’s hard for me to believe that
such a simple method works so fine.

120
00:08:04,301 –> 00:08:08,357
To sum up – try to stay awake,
use paradoxical intention

121
00:08:08,358 –> 00:08:11,886
and focus your attention
on what you’re afraid of.

122
00:08:11,887 –> 00:08:15,829
That is, if you’re afraid of
not getting enough sleep,

123
00:08:15,830 –> 00:08:17,329
try to stay awake.

124
00:08:17,330 –> 00:08:20,429
If you’re stressed by
something else,

125
00:08:20,430 –> 00:08:24,457
think “OK, I’m stressed by it,
that’s no problem”.

126
00:08:24,458 –> 00:08:27,157
In this way,
you release tension

127
00:08:27,158 –> 00:08:30,829
and your body knows
how much sleep it needs.

128
00:08:30,830 –> 00:08:36,143
If you relax by applying this method,
then your organism will regulate sleep

129
00:08:36,144 –> 00:08:38,400
and you’ll sleep very well.

130
00:08:38,401 –> 00:08:42,886
Even if you wake up before morning
and you apply this method,

131
00:08:42,887 –> 00:08:47,557
that is, thinking that
you don’t need to sleep and you’ll relax –

132
00:08:47,558 –> 00:08:50,929
you’ll sleep well
and you’ll have a deep sleep.

133
00:08:50,930 –> 00:08:54,143
It’ll cause you to rest in a great way.

134
00:08:54,144 –> 00:08:59,129
You can start using this method today
and it’ll work from the first day.

135
00:08:59,130 –> 00:09:02,571
It doesn’t require drugs,
as I also tried

136
00:09:02,572 –> 00:09:06,486
various sleeping pills,
herbal medicines, etc. –

137
00:09:06,487 –> 00:09:09,686
it doesn’t help
in the case of anxiety at all.

138
00:09:09,687 –> 00:09:15,086
Using this method is a first part,
but the second very important method is

139
00:09:15,087 –> 00:09:19,700
understanding this problem,
that is, to watch this entire video.

140
00:09:19,701 –> 00:09:22,214
You must know
how your brain works,

141
00:09:22,215 –> 00:09:26,829
that insomnia is caused by the fear of
not getting enough sleep,

142
00:09:26,830 –> 00:09:30,786
that hyper-intention is about
overfocusing on a problem,

143
00:09:30,787 –> 00:09:33,729
which causes tension
and inability to act.

144
00:09:33,730 –> 00:09:37,343
You should also use
paradoxical intention, that is,

145
00:09:37,344 –> 00:09:41,800
try to set yourself up for the opposite
and try not to sleep.

146
00:09:41,801 –> 00:09:45,943
So, you should understand your psyche
and theory about it,

147
00:09:45,944 –> 00:09:48,800
gaining knowledge
from different sources.

148
00:09:48,801 –> 00:09:52,843
You should also be able to
see yourself from the outside

149
00:09:52,844 –> 00:09:56,671
and in this way use this method,
as it’ll work well.

150
00:09:56,672 –> 00:10:01,100
If you understand this problem
subconsciously, it’ll be solved.

151
00:10:01,101 –> 00:10:06,200
It applies to many things in your life –
understanding psyche and problem

152
00:10:06,201 –> 00:10:10,243
allows you to free from it
and you start to see clearly.

153
00:10:10,244 –> 00:10:14,071
If you’re able to look at yourself
from the outside,

154
00:10:14,072 –> 00:10:18,571
you’re able to release from
your emotions and solve problems.

155
00:10:18,572 –> 00:10:23,929
Looking at yourself from the outside
is a great ability in life and business,

156
00:10:23,930 –> 00:10:28,186
as you’re able to approach
many issues in a relaxed manner.

157
00:10:28,187 –> 00:10:31,500
So, use the mechanism
of paradoxical intention,

158
00:10:31,501 –> 00:10:36,557
try to consciously direct your thinking
that you don’t need to sleep.

159
00:10:36,558 –> 00:10:41,200
It’ll cause great relaxation in your mind
and you’ll sleep well.

160
00:10:41,201 –> 00:10:44,086
In addition,
try to understand a problem,

161
00:10:44,087 –> 00:10:48,629
because the understanding of a problem
will be a solution for it.

162
00:10:48,630 –> 00:10:53,200

166

and I’m very happy
